Sharapova journey in US Open ended in fourth round

NEW YORK: Former World Number One, Maria Sharapova’s dreams of winning US Open on her comeback to international level was broken when she was beaten in the fourth round by Anastasija Sevastova.

16th seed Anastasija Sevastova beat the 2006 US Open Champion by 5-7, 6-4 and 6-2 at Arthur Ashe Stadium of New York in the fourth round and secure a seat in quarter final against the American player.
