Sharif family not appearing before NAB a joke with institutions: Fawad

LAHORE (NNI): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudhary said Friday Sharif family not appearing before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is a joke with national institutions.

He slammed former premier Nawaz Sharif and his children who were summoned by NAB and refused the call, sending their counsel instead. Fawad said investigation of Sharif family over Al-Azizia Steel Company is a positive development, foreseeing that further references regarding Hill Metal and Gulf Steel Mills will also come to light.

In a press conference, the PTI spokesman said accountability of Sharif family is a big step against the rich. He accused Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Ahmed Saeed and former SECP Chairman Zafar Hijazi of running a network of money laundering. He said Nawaz Sharif got the first episode of answer after he repeatedly asked why he was ousted.

Talking about NA-120 by-election, Fawad said PML-N considers it a disgrace to ask for votes from people and appearing before officer of smaller grade. “Sharif brothers remained stuck to high positions for the past 20 years.

Machinery for Al-Azizia Steel Company was not brought from Dubai. They cannot give complete money trail of Gulf Steel, Al-Azizia Steel Company and Hill Metal,” he stated.

It should be noted that Sharif family’s counsel has asked NAB to provide questionnaire after not appearing before the officials in summon regarding Al-Azizia Steel Company reference.
