Sharjeel to appeal in high court

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: The banned Cricketer Sharjeel Khan’s lawyer has said that they would challenge the dismissal of his appeal in a higher court against tribunal for imposing ban on his client.

The left hand opener Sharjeel Khan was banned for five years in August after an investigation by a three-member Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) tribunal. The spot-fixing scandal was exposed during the second edition of the Pakistan Super League which was taking place in Dubai in February this year.

Justice Faqir Khokhar upheld the ban late on Wednesday and also rejected the PCB appeal to maximize the punishment.

Sharjeel lawyers, Shaigan Ijaz told media that apparently the decision is disappointing and we will definitely go to the high court after knowing on what grounds our appeal was rejected.
