Sharjeel directs to start operations of EV buses immediately

Karachi: Provincial Information , Transport and Mass Transit Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Monday has said that the first route of People’s Electric Bus Service has been finalized and directed Sindh Mass Transit Authority and National Radio Transmission Company to launch the operations of Pakistan 1st EV bus service immediately on the route.

The minister gave these instructions while presiding over an important meeting related to People’s Bus Service at his office. The meeting discussed the procurement of new buses for People’s Bus Service and it’s operations on more routes in Karachi . The meeting also discussed the routes of the People’s electric bus service. On this occasion, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the Sindh government has approved the funds for procurement of more buses for the People’s Bus Service in it’s recent cabinet meeting and directed Sindh Mass Transit Authority to gear up the process of procurement of buses.

He said that the People’s Bus Service has received immense acceptance in masses because of it’s comfort and affordable fare and the citizens are demanding to start it’s operations on various new routes. Secretary Transport Abdul Haleem Sheikh, Managing Director Sindh Mass Transit Authority Zubair Chana, Priject Director NRTC Sohaib Shafiq, Operations Manager Abdul Shakoor Arain, Assistant Director Legal SMTA Bashir Ahmed and others attended the meeting.
