Sharjeel shifted to hospital for urgent treatment

KARACHI: Pakistan Peop-le’s Party leader and MPA Sharjeel Inam Memon has been shifted to Jinnah Hos-pital Today.
According to the details, former Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has been shifted to Jinnah Hospital due to his backache issue today.
He has been admitted to hospital for treatment to his illness.
Earlier on November 16, imprisoned Pakistan Peop-le’s Party leader was given medical treatment after he complained about ‘sudden illness’.
Prison officials said that the former information minister complained about severe back pain and fever.
A medical board comprising senior radiologists, orthopedics, cardiologists, neurosurgeons, physiotherapists and other doctors examined Memon and recommended moving him to a tertiary-care health facility to better ascertain his condition.
Meanwhile, it was learnt that the medical board was initially reluctant on visiting the central prison to examine Memon, but due to intense pressure from the health department and the Chief Minister House, they were forced to comply.
Earlier, the court had called an explanation from jail superintendent over the constitution of a medical board for Memon without seeking permission of the court within three days and also sought another report from health secretary within a week about the procedure and mechanism to provide treatment to prisoners.
The jailer through the explanation report contended that after examining Memon, a doctor at jail hospital had advised to call physiotherapist and neurosurgeons from the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) since he was suffering from backache.
