SHC orders immediate reopening of Ayisha Bawani College

KARACHI (PPI): The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday suspended the order of lower court to seal Ayisha Bawani Government College in Karachi and ordered its immediate re-opening.

A day earlier, the lower court had directed the authorities concerned to seal the college building while hearing a case regarding its ownership on Friday. Later on the court’s directives, the college was sealed after the students were forced to vacate it.

On Saturday, the SHC was informed by the administration that the future of 30,000 students is on the stake due to the closure of the college. The counsel stated that ownership case has also been filed in the Supreme Court, requesting the SHC to restrain the authorities concerned from sealing it.

While suspending the order of low court, the SHC bench directed the authorities concerned to re-open it forthwith.

The court also issued notices to all parties, seeking their respective comments by September 23.
