F.P. Report
SARGODHA: An anti-terrorism court in Sargodha has issued arrest warrants for 51 accused individuals, including PTI leader and Punjab Assembly opposition leader Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar, in connection with the May 9 riots in Mianwali.
The hearing pertained to cases of rioting, arson, and vandalism registered after violent incidents at the Mianwali judicial complex. However, none of the nominated accused appeared before the court during proceedings.
Due to repeated absences, the court issued arrest warrants for Ahmad Khan Bhachar, Bilal Ijaz, Ahmad Chattha, and others. Additionally, proceedings have been initiated to declare PTI’s central leader Omar Ayub an absconder.
The court adjourned the hearing until July 29 and issued fresh summons for the accused. Testimonies were also recorded in four related cases from May 9.
It is worth noting that the May 9 incident in Mianwali led to an FIR against 57 identified and 150 unidentified suspects.
