Shehbaz released on bail, not acquitted: Chohan

F.P. Report

LAHORE: Punjab Information and Culture Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan while responding on the decision of Lahore High Court (LHC) maintained that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) President and Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif has been released on bail and not acquitted.

“I am surprised on the reaction of the party workers who are dancing and celebrating the decision as if Shehbaz has been set free. The case has not yet ended,” he remarked.

Punjab Information and Culture Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan  asserted that Sharif has no political future. “Shehbaz and his son Hamza have betrayed Nawaz,” Punjab Information and Culture Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan  claimed.

Speaking over Public Accounts Committee (PAC), he said, “The tradition that a minister cannot be the member of PAC can be broken.” “I will not insist over the membership if anything like this is written in constitution however; when a corrupt lihe Hamza Shehbaz can be the chairman of PAC then it is my right also to be the member,” clarified Chohan. Punjab Information and Culture Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan  made it evident that the requirement of membership is merely for the purpose of check and balance and not to initiate any clash.

Sharif has been granted bail by Lahore High Court (LHC) against two surety bonds worth one million each in Ramzan Sugar Mills and Ashiana Housing Scheme cases. A two-member bench headed by Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed heard the plea which had been opposed by NAB.
