Shehbaz Sharif calls for free corona test of every Pakistani

F.P. Report

LAHORE:Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday urged the government to expand the scope of testing by ensuring free of cost coronavirus test for each and every person in the country.

He asked the authorities to ensure the free of cost corona test for everyone and said “the prevention from the virus is the only way to save and protect the nation.” He demanded the government to separate the corona patients from the marriage halls, mosques and hospitals and to relocate them to schools and colleges (as alternative quarantine centres).

“How many people have been screened until now, and how many have been tested? All should be made public at once,” Shehbaz said and added that concealing the truth would not solve any problem.

He asked the government to manage things in proportion to the situation, which he said was graver than the government had been perceiving it. Shehbaz Sharif urged the authorities to give further training to doctors, police and the medical staff, and requested not to make the corona patients “untouchables.”

He requested the medical staff to treat the patients with “care and compassion,” instead of treating them as “accused of some heinous crime.” The opposition leader asked the government to provide the laboratories of the teaching hospitals with the corona PCR kits and bio-safety kits.

He also urged the government to devise a plan to train the concerned staff in caring and treating the patients, in addition to training them about how to use the kits and machines. The PML-N leader said that PCR machines at the DHQs could be made usable after changing its bio-safety level two kits.
