LAHORE: President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Shehbaz Sharif has criticized the PTI led government for increasing the prices of petroleum products.
Shehbaz Sharif tweeted on Monday, leader of the opposition in National Assembly, demanded that the government withdraw the excessive increase in the prices of petrol and diesel.
“It has become difficult for Pakistani people to eke out a living in a tsunami of inflation,” he said, questioning why didn’t Prime Minister Imran Khan’s hands tremble while signing an order with regard to the price hike.
Earlier on Sunday, the government increased petrol and diesel prices by Rs6 per litre each and kerosene and light diesel oil (LDO) prices were jacked up by three rupees a litre for the month of April 2019 effective from Monday (today).
The petrol prices have been increased from the existing Rs92.88 to Rs98.88/litre while prices of High Speed Diesel (HSD) have been increased to Rs117.43 per litre from the earlier Rs111.43 a litre.
Kerosene price has been increased from Rs86.31 to Rs89.31 per litre. The LDO price has been increased from earlier Rs77.53 to Rs80.53 per litre.
