Sheikh Rasheed claims to end Railways deficit in one year
LAHORE: Federal Minister for Railways, Sheikh Rasheed has claimed that he will bring down deficit of Railways to zero within one year.
This he said while chairing a meeting in Railway Headquarters in Lahore on Saturday. He said that he will try to lessen the financial burden and the decision was made to remove ghost contractual employees in Pakistan Railways.
The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Railway Aftab Akbar and other officials.
Rasheed maintained that contract employees and those skipping office hours are a burden on the department.
Earlier, the minister announced to introduce a modern tracking system in his department that will help reduce journey between Lahore and Rawalpindi.
Rasheed added that railways will soon be developed as a modern technical organization offering facilities to everyone, he added.
