Sherpao jibes PPP over silence on delimitation issue

F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: Chairman Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has said that the sudden somersault of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) over the issue of delimitation had explored the credentials of the PPP.

He said this while addressing public gathering at Bahadar Kalay area of Peshawar on Friday.

As per statement, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said that the U-turn of PPP has not in the interests of the small provinces and it would further aggravate their sense of deprivation, adding it’s the demand of the PPP, if elections were held on the basis of the 1998 census delimitation; the question will be aroused as it would void the struggle of the political parties for conveyance of the hoarier census process.

He said that according to the new census, the constituencies in the KP and Balochistan had been increased and any constitutional and legal battle over the matter could deprive the masses of the smaller provinces from their legal rights.

Aftab Sherpao expressed concern over the census results in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and added that the population of Fata had reduced to minimum under a designed conspiracy in the fresh count, which would deprive the tribal region of their rightful share in the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.

“We believed that the merger of Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was likely to end the sufferings of the tribal people and ensure them all fundamental rights,” mentioned Sherpao. Sherpao urged the federal government to revise its foreign policy, adding it should be revived in the best national interests.

“Both the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan especially the Pashtun nation on the both sides of the borders adversely effected in the war against terrorism,” said QWP chief. Aftab Khan criticized the PTI chief Imran Khan for neglecting the province while continuing to slogan for change.

“Imran Khan isn’t taking interest in resolving the serious problems of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as his policies focused on Punjab, “ he added.

He said KP faced serious financial and administrative crises but the provincial government had begun to spend millions of rupees on a media campaign to highlight it’s so called achievements.
