KOHAT: Station House Officer (SHO) was killed during exchange of fire with outlaws in the jurisdiction of Ustarzai police station Kohat district on Tuesday, police said.
Acting on tip of, the police party led by SHO Abbasi Ali raided the compound of the notorious kidnaper in Spinkhwara area. As the outlaw saw the police party, he opened fire on them, leaving SHO dead. However, in the retaliation fire the police also gun down the kidnaper Kamkhab Ali who was allegedly involved in various kidnapping for ransom cases. Soon after the incident heavy contingent of police force reached the site and cordoned off the area to arrest the accomplices and collect evidential proof from the scene.
Separately, one person was killed and another injured when armed person ambushed them in Zargari area of Hangu district. The reason behind the murder could not be ascertained. Police started investigation into the murder.
