Monitoring Desk

MUMBAI: Back in 2005, Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji delivered a massive box-office success with Bunty Aur Babli and if reports are to be believed than the duo are set to team up for a sequel for years later. The sequel will reportedly be titled BuntyAurBabli again and will be going on floors next month. The sequel will be directed Shaad Ali, who also directed the original.

In an interview with a leading daily, a source close to film revealed that the sequel has been on the cards for quite a while now and the production house has finally green lit the project. The source said, “The sets will be constructed in the first week of June in Mumbai and the shoot will also begin next month.” BuntyAurBabli was a film that was woven around two small townersRakeshTrivedi (Abhishek) and VimmiSaluja (Rani) who dream of becoming rich and famous and narrates the story of how they become con artists. Amitabh Bachchan too played a pivotal role in the film and we hope that he has a part in the sequel as well.

Apart from BuntyAurBabli, Abhishek and Rani also shared screen space in Hum Tum and KabhiAlvida Na Kehna. They were last seen together in PradeepSarkar’sLaagaChunari Mein Daag.
