Show-cause notices issued to 213 absent primary teachers

F.P. Report

LARKANA: The District Education Officer (Primary), Larkana, Nawab Ali Khokhar, has sent 213 show-cause notices to male and female teachers of the district for remaining absent from duties which also include eight to 10 teachers who have either already retired from government service or have expired.

All the teachers have been directed to attend his office on Monday, February 11, 2019 for personal hearing or else their monthly salaries would be stopped. These teachers, belong to all four talukas of Larkana district including Larkana, Bakrani, Ratodero and Dokri.

In this connection, Primary Teachers Association (PTA) leaders Majid Gaad, Gul Hassan Chandio, Ghulamullah Sangi, Mujahid Mumtaz Soomro and others held a protest demonstration here on Sunday and said that DEO Khokhar was harassing the teachers in the name of taking attendance through biometric system and teams.

They said that DEO himself had posted so many teachers at those schools which were closed. They alleged that eight to 10 teachers had already retired from government service approximately two years ago or had died but they had also been issued show-cause notices which prove that most incompetent person had been posted since long as DEO Primary in Larkana without knowing his expertise who cannot run schools on scientific lines and improve fundamental education system.

These teachers include PSTs Muhammad Mithal, Zamir Hussain Shah and Sabir Hussain son of Rahib Sangi of Government Primary School, Hazoori Sangi, who too has retired from government service a year ago but even then he has not been spared. They said it clearly indicated that notorious biometric teams have miserably failed and are also involved in massive corruption which should be eliminated now. They demanded withdrawal of show cause notices, action against the DEO for his failure to verity the office record before issuing notices and end of biometric teams or else, they warned, massive protests will be held across Sindh.
