Sindh College Games 2024 concludes

KARACHI: Government colleges’ talent was lauded by Secretary College Education Department, Sadaf Anees Sheikh, at the closing ceremony of Sindh College Games 2024, where Karachi emerged victorious with a total of 1550 points.

Hyderabad Region secured second place with 1000 points, while Sukkur Region clinched third place with 610 points. Meanwhile, Hyderabad Region secured fourth place with 550 points, Larkana Region fifth with 205 points, and Mirpurkhas Region stood sixth.

The closing ceremony, held at Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Sports Complex, Mirpurkhas, was graced by chief Guest Secretary College Education Department Sadaf Anees Sheikh, Additional Commissioner Mirpurkhas Sonu Khan, Mayor Mirpurkhas Abdul Rauf Ghori, Director General Colleges Sindh Professor Syed Saleh Abbas Rizvi, along with all regional directors. Addressing the gathering, chief Guests Sadaf Anees Sheikh expressed delight in witnessing the talent of government college students.

The mega event of Sindh, the closing ceremony of Sindh College Games 2024, saw the participation of teams from Karachi, Larkana, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Mirpurkhas, comprising over 100 teams. Finals in athletics, hockey, football, and badminton were held at the Sports Complex, while a total of 22 teams from 11 games reached the finals.

For the first time, traditional games of Koko and Wanjh Watti were organized at the provincial level, with inter-region matches and finals hosted with hospitality in Hyderabad.

The opening ceremony took place in Karachi. Lastly, trophies, medals, and certificates were distributed among the winners and runners-up teams, along with honor shields and certificates given to members of the Central and Regional Organizing Committees, with Karachi receiving the General winning Shield.”
