KARACHI: Soon after Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) senior politician Khalid Maqbool Siddiqi announced his resignation as the Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication over certain reservations with the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) government on Sunday, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail telephoned the allied party members of the MQM-P and complained that Siddiqi should have contacted the federal government before making such a decision.
On the other hand, Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood expressed hope that the MQM-P would remain an ally of the PTI’s government, and stated that their concerns would be resolved together.
