Sindh govt being pressurized with help of NAB, says Murad Ali Shah

UMERKOT: Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the government of Sindh being pressurized with the help of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Murad Ali Shah was talking to media after arriving in Umerkot.

“We are not against accountability but it must be based on justice,” the chief minister stressed.

A federal minister has said that there are other ways to remove the Sindh government, Murad Ali Shah told the media.

“You have to take legal path to remove this Sindh government,” chief minister Shah said.

They have required 50 more members in assembly to remove the government, he said. “Not a single provincial assembly member of People’s Party will join them,” he added.

Chief Minister Shah faces tough challenge from vocal opposition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and other opposition parties to his PPP-led government in Sindh.

The major opposition parties in the Sindh Assembly, demanding chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee have decided to abstaining from taking part in the election of the standing committees of the house.

In Sindh Assembly’s 34 house committees 168 members of the house are to elect their members.

The government said that initially election for 21 committees would be held and members in the remaining committees would be elected later to leave door open for the opposition representation.
