We have received the letter from Transparency International Pakistan (TIP) and it asked to look into matter relating procurement of desks, Shah recounted. “We will look into and review all things and the information would be shared latter with media and public”, Sindh Minister Sardar Ali Shah told, adding that this is administrative and departmental issue.
Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani told that the committee was formed for procurement of desks. Vice Chancellor IBA Sukkur was heading the committee.
The committee was authorized to take decision for procurement of desks, he said, articulating that the SEPRA rules were followed strictly for procurement of desks.
He rejected the impressions that minister or other officials were involved into the procurement process of desks, reiterating that only the committee was authorized for procurement.
Total cost was 3.6 billion rupees for procurement of desks and of total cost, one billion rupees were earmarked for transportation of desks and taxes, he added. Since last many years, we could not procure the desks for schools due to one or another issue, he added.
