Sirajul Haq warns rulers for patronizing perpetrators behind Khatm e Nubuwwat law

LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the rulers would have to face the consequences of patronizing the elements who recently attempted to alter the laws relating to the Khatm e Nubuwwat.

Addressing the central leadership of the JI at Mansoora on Wednesday, he said that the people who tried to drop the legislators’ oath concerning the Khatm e Nubuwwat were not only involved in a crime against the nation but had also committed a crime against the beloved Prophet and they could not be spared in any case.

He demanded of the government to make public the report of the official committee on the issue and hand down a deterrent punishment to them. Sirajul Haq welcomed the Islamabad High Court decision restoring the previous provisions of the law related to the Khatme Nubuwwat.

He slated the US demand for quashing the laws related to the Khatm e Nubuwwat and termed it a blatant and uncalled for interference in the country’s internal affairs. He stressed upon the government to lodge protest to Washington in this regard.

The meeting discussed the latest political situation obtaining in the country and also the prospective candidates of the JI in the coming elections. Sirajul Haq made it clear at the meeting that the JI would not rest at ease unless the corrupt rulers were brought to accountability and their illegal wealth within the country and abroad was recovered.

He said that corruption to the tune of twelve billion rupees was taking place in the country every day which was a matter of shame. He said the elements looting the public money had made the life of the common miserable.

The JI chief said that the 2018 elections would be the last chance for the masses to get rid of the corrupt rulers and they should not repeat their past mistakes of electing the politicians who had been tried and tested many a time.

He urged the electorate to change their voting attitude and vote for JI candidates who were known for their honesty, patriotism and competence.
