SHEBERGHAN: Six Afghan National Army troops were killed in a Taliban attack in Qaisar district in Faryab province. According to a press release issued by Faryab media office, Taliban attacked an ANA checkpoint in Qaisar district.
Six ANA troops were killed while two more were held alive by the Taliban, the press release stated. The Taliban took away small and heavy weapons and other gadgets from the outpost, it added.
Information about the whereabouts of the troops held by the Taliban was not available at the moment, the press release maintained.
Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman Qari Muhammad Yousaf Ahmadi said six ANA soldiers were killed and two more were captured alive in the clash in Qazal area in Qaisar district. A Taliban fighter also sustained injuries in the gunfight, Ahmadi said.
