Six security men injured

KANDAHAR:  Two Taliban gunmen were killed and six Afghan security men were wounded during a clash and landmine blast in southern Zabul province, official said Tuesday.

A clash occurred between security forces and Taliban during operation in Bagh Bazaar and Laghar Baba areas of Arghandab district, Zabul province, said Haji Amir Jan Alkozai, administrator of the same district.

A landmine exploded on a Humvee of security forces, leaving three police and as many ANA troops wounded, he said, two guards of Zabul police security chief was among the injured.

He said the fighting ended with the retreat of Taliban. The district administrator said two Taliban were killed and three wounded in the clash. He said the Zabul police chief, security chief and other security forces were on way to their targeted areas of operation when attacked by the Taliban.

Taliban spokesman Qari Muhammad Yousaf Ahmadi claimed three police were killed and six more wounded in the bomb and gun attacks.

He said three vehicles of government forces were also destroyed.

Ahmadi would not disclose if there were any casualties to Taliban.
