SNGPL disconnects 109 meters on illegal gas use

LAHORE: During the ongoing crackdown against gas pilferers, SNGPL continued raids in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, disconnecting another 109 connections while imposing fine of Rs. 1.7 million and 184 under billing cases processed. In Lahore, the regional team disconnected 7 connections on illegal use of gas and another 6 on use of compressor.

In Bahawalpur, the regional team disconnected two connections on use of the compressor and 1 on illegal use of gas. The company disconnected 4 connections on illegal use of gas and 123 under billing cases have been processed and fine of Rs 0.23 Million imposed against gas pilferers in Multan. In Sheikhupura, 14 on illegal use of gas and 49 under billing cases have been processed, amount of Rs 0.75 booked against gas thieves and under billing cases. In Peshawar, the company disconnected 60 connections on account of direct use of gas and illegal connections.

The regional team also imposed fine of Rs 0.67 against gas thieves. In Rawalpindi the regional team disconnected two gas connections on illegal use. The regional team in Gujranwala two under billing cases processed and 1 meter disconnected on the use of compressor and one on illegal use of gas.

The region also imposed fine of Rs. 0.05 million against under billing cases. The company disconnected 09 connections on illegal use of gas in Islamabad. In Sahiwal, 2 connections were disconnected on illegal use of gas. In Faisalabad 10 under billing cases have been processed.
