Social media to be utilized for promotion of tourism

GILGIT: Deputy Commissioner, Nagar, Naved Ahmed here Monday said special focus would be made on publicity of tourism’s potential areas and sites of the district and services of social media would be used for promotion of tourism. The government is endeavouring to promote tourism potential of Nagar keeping in view of its beautifully valleys, lush green meadows and mountainous beauty and social media would be used by the district administration to highlight tourists’ sites of the district.

Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Nagar, Naveed Ahmed said this while talking to a group of owners of local hotels here today. Matters pertaining to problems of hotels industry and promotion of tourism came under discussion.

The hotel owners said tourism could be promoted through construction of link roads and provision of loans on easy terms and conditions for the construction of hotels and restaurants. The DC said the Government was utilizing all available resources for development of tourism sector in the district and more facilities would be provided to hotel industry.

Promotional sign boards at permanent places would be installed besides construction of links road with cooperation of owners of hotel industries ahead of upcoming summer season, he maintained. Efforts would be made to provide loans on easy terms and conditions to hotel owners from the government and semi government institutions, he explained. Naved Ahmed assured every possible support for uplift of hotel industries in the district.
