ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced on Sunday that the social networking websites Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other will blocked in the country until the law and order situation improved in the federal capital.

PTA added that the step was taken in the wake of protest in the federal capital an adding that there had been no instructions to block cell phone services so far.

The social media networking websites were blocked after the security forces started crackdown against the protesters in Islamabad and it irking the citizens of the capital.
