Soft loans worth Rs 26b approved under Kamyab Jawan Programme: Usman

ISLAMABAD: The government so far has approved soft loans amounting to Rs 26 billion for 20,358 successful applicants of the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES) of the Kamyab Jawan Programme (KJP), Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Muhammad Usman Dar said on Wednesday.
In a video message, Usman Dar said concessionary loans of Rs 19.1 billion, out of the total approved ones, has already been disbursed among 15,027 entrepreneurs hailing from different parts of the country.
The SAPM said he had fulfilled the promise of sharing weekly details of the KJP’s statistics with media and public, expressing delight over the encouraging results showed by the scheme.
The government had so far created over 30,000 jobs under the scheme, he said, adding the number of overall employments directly generated by the KJP crossed mark of 50,000.
Giving province-wise details of loan disbursement, the SAPM said Punjab had taken lead in creating jobs under the scheme and touched the figure of 22,335.
He said an amount of over Rs 14 billion had been disbursed among 11,000 youth of Punjab. Some 3,835 people, who have been declared eligible for the soft loans, would be given cash shortly, he added.
Usman Dar said the second largest province where the YES has been massively benefiting the youth was Sindh as over 4,000 jobs were created there. An amount of over Rs 3 billion has been disbursed under the YES.
He said the Federal Government had set a target of disbursing an amount Rs 10 billion among the Sindh’s youth in the first phase. Following the directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Federal Government would take all-out step to empower the young people of Sindh, he added.
The SAPM asked the people of Sindh to get ready for the Kamyab Sports programme, launched under the KJP.
