CHENNAI (AFP): Aiden Markram completed 2,000 runs in one-day internationals as he edged South Africa closer to victory in their World Cup clash against Pakistan in Chennai on Friday.
The 29-year-old achieved the feat when he reached 70 as South Africa chased a 271-run winning target.
Markram now has four scores of over fifty in this World Cup, having notched 106 against Sri Lanka in South Africa’s 428-5 — the highest total in all World Cups — in New Delhi.
