Special Jirga held in Fort Balahisar

PESHAWAR: A special jirga was organized by the Security Forces at Fort Balahisar Peshawar with the aim of honouring tribal traditions. The jirga was attended by Inspector General Frontier Corps North Major General Noor Wali Khan and elders from different tribes of Khyber district. In his opening remarks, Inspector General Frontier Corps welcomed the distinguished participants and expressed his gratitude to the elders for their efforts in maintaining peace in Khyber district along with the security forces.

Maj. General Noor Wali Khan emphasised the historical significance of the Khyber tribal district and praised the tribes for their pivotal role in ensuring peace in Pakistan, while paying tribute to their sacrifices. The security forces, in collaboration with various government organizations, have successfully completed numerous significant projects.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of providing employment opportunities for the tribal youth, emphasizing ongoing efforts to empower them. Major General Noor Wali Khan emphasized that peace has been restored in Khyber district as a result of immense sacrifices, and it is now the shared responsibility of the local population to continue working alongside the security forces to safeguard peace.

During the jirga, the elders strongly condemned the incidents of May 9 and demanded that the people involved should be severely punished. They said that the nation is with Pakistan Army and the tribal people are united against all such elements along with the Pakistan Army.

On the ocassion, the elders put forth several suggestions aimed at resolving the issues facing the area. The participants expressed their appreciation for the security forces’ tireless endeavors in bringing about peace, development, and stability in the district. They reiterated their commitment to protecting peace in the area, emphasizing that no individual or group would be allowed to disrupt the hard-earned peace.
