Speed breakers remove from roads in Landikotal

LANDI KOTAL: The political administration of Landi Kotal removed all speed breakers, erected at different sections of Pak-Afghan highway here on Saturday. Assistant Political Agent, Landi Kotal Niaz Muhammad told that on the complaint of National Highway Authority and the locals (NHA) that the tribal, resided near the highway had made scores of speed breakers that affect pace of traffic, a comprehensive drive was kicked off to wipe-out all unlawful speed breakers built at Charwazgai, School Chowk, Khuga Khel and others, on main Pak-Afghan and bypass roads.

To avoid any untoward incident, Levies personnel would be deployed at points where education institutions and densely populated areas were located to facilitate the tribesmen, APA told. He maintained NHA had authority to set up speed breaker with technical lines where it needed and the civilians would not be let disturb flow of traffic while constructing hurdles at the main highway.

The locals welcomed the initiative of the administration and said it caused inconvenience to the locals in time of need. Rahat Shinwari, a driver appreciated the decision of the authority and said the unjustified obstacles, made of dust and stones not only delayed emergencies case but would also damaged vehicles while crossing it.
