Sportsmen are ambassadors of peace, says Jamal Shah

ZHOB: Ex-speaker Balochistan Assembly Haji Jamal Shah Kakar has said that sports develop the spirit of healthy competition among youth and give them a lesson of tolerance. Involving and encouraging the young generation in sports, will ensure a secure future, peace and development.

He was speaking at a friendly football match held in union council Badinzai, under PPR-SM project here. A large number of spectators including tribal elders, social workers and students from different villages of the union council showed up the event. The banners were displayed highlighting the importance of sports, peace and development.

The distinguished chief guest of the event said that the area has enough sports talent, which needed to be polished to compete at district level. He urged the need to promote sporting culture in every nook and corner of the district. He further said that the importance of sports cannot be ignored as it creates tolerance in the society and brings people closer. Friendly atmosphere should be provided to youth to encourage them to participate in sports events.

“Sportsmen are the ambassadors of peace, it is need of the hour to motivate and encourage the young generation towards the playgrounds because through sports a healthy society can be established.” He said. He also appreciated the efforts of BRSP & active participation of community in development process.

“BRSP is playing significant role for the development and provision of basic facilities to the marginalized communities in rural areas. The organization is struggling to improve the living-standard of people in remote and backward areas”, he added.

Project Officer PPR-SM Quttab Mandokhail speaking on the occasion said, holding the UC level event was aimed at promoting peace, harmony and development within the communities. Ex-speaker Jamal Shah Kakar and Project Officer Quttab Mandokhail distributed trophies among winners and runners-up and sports committee for organizing the event.
