LASBELLA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan on Sunday said that flood-affectees will not be left helpless.
“The provincial government was taking steps to resettle the people who were affected due to recent floods,” Kamal said this during his surprise visit to Lakhra, an area in Lasbella to inquire about relief work.
The CM was briefed by the deputy commissioner Lasbella about ongoing relief operation in the area.
Lauding the services of Pakistan Army in the relief work, Mr Jam Kamal vowed to resettle the flood-affectees at earliest.
Shedding the light on positives from the recent heavy rains in the province, he said it help in filling the dam, as the province was facing drought situation.
The rescue operations, after recent flash floods caused by heavy rainfall in Balochistan was completed on Tuesday (March 5) while the relief work was underway in the province.
At least 13 people were died and 12 others were injured in Balochistan after heavy rainfall and flooding wreaked havoc in the province.
The natural calamity damaged more than 1500 houses and mud huts in the area. Turbat, Kech, Khetran, Naushki and Qilla Abdullah were mostly affected districts in heavy rainfalls.
During the weather spell Ziarat and Zarghoon Ghar received heavy snowfall.
