Student kills principal in Shabqadar

CHARSADDA: A student of 2nd year in Shabqadar killed his college principal over alleged blasphemy on Monday.

The boy, identified as Faheem Ashraf, was arrested from the crime scene with the murder weapon by the FC personnel.

Sources told that Faheem Ashraf had recently attended the Tehreek-e-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYR) sit-in at Faizabad due to which he remained absent from the college. Upon his return, the college principal Sareer Ahmed scolded the student for being absent from the college without any prior permission. Few days later on Monday, Faheem Ashraf shot the principal dead in the college premises after accusing him of blasphemy.

Residents of the area protested against the killing and blocked the road.

They said that deceased was a Hafiz-e-Quran and known for his good behavior and character.

Sources said that police was interrogating the arrested culprit however, till the filing of the story no evidence of blasphemy by the deceased principal was found.
