PESHAWAR: Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asif Khan has stressed upon the students to utilize their knowledge in the better interest of the country and play their positive role in constructing a good positive society.
This he said while addressing to BS convocation ceremony at University of Peshawar on Saturday. VC Asif Khan has said that students of Peshawar University are the ambassadors of this historical education institute and adding that now it is the responsibility of students to show the world the positive image of varsity through their positive activities.
Regarding the development of Peshawar University, he claimed that administration is working to develop the university management system with the aim to ensure the provision of facilities to students through one window.
More than Rs 440 million have been spent on the reorganization of structures including expansion of labs, establishing Incubation center and center of mathematical Sciences in the varsity, VC added.
In the convocation ceremony at least 193 students were awarded degrees including 21 gold medals among the student of BS 2009-13 and 2010-14 which was held at convocation hall.
BS degrees were granted to students in 18 different department of the Peshawar University including Arts and Design, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Environmental Sciences, Geography, Geology, Zoology, Management Studies, Commerce, Computer Sciences, Electronics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Psychology, Sociology and Education. Gold medalists were also given cash prizes.
