LAKKI MARWAT: The district food department has destroyed huge quantity of substandard milk during an ongoing action against low quality food on Tuesday.

Accompanied by additional assistant commissioner Abdul Samad Khattak the food department team seized over 800 litre substandard from milk sellers and destroyed it. The action was initiated on the instructions of local deputy commissioner Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan.

Many milk sellers in Lakki city import the commodity from Eesakhel and other localities of Punjab bordering the district. The imported milk is said to be substandard and is sold to the citizens and hoteliers. The milk sellers are also involved in selling adulterated milk to fleece consumers and become millionaire over a night. The additional AC fined milk sellers for selling substandard milk and made clear that the administration would continue drive against sellers of unhealthy and low quality milk.
