SYDNEY (Feb 12, 2025); Two nurses from a Sydney hospital have been immediately stood down after appearing in a social media video where they allegedly threatened to refuse treatment and kill Israeli patients. The incident has drawn widespread condemnation, including from Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who called the footage “sickening and shameful.”
The video, published by an Israeli content creator, shows a man in medical scrubs and a woman making disturbing remarks about Israeli patients. NSW Health Minister Ryan Park labeled the behavior “vile, disgusting, and appalling” and assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway.
Authorities, including NSW Police and the Healthcare Complaints Commission, are probing potential breaches of clinical standards and possible hate speech violations. Park emphasized that the individuals will likely never work in the NSW health system again.
