Syed Dilawar Abbas assumes Charge of Chairman, Board of Directors of SNGPL

LAHORE: The newly appointed Chairman, Board of Directors of SNGPL, Syed Dilawar Abbas has assumed his charge. He was recently appointed by the Government of Pakistan to Chair Board of Directors of the Country’s largest Gas Utility Company. On the occasion, Mr. Dilawar Abbas said that SNGPL will strive to bring improvement in its infrastructure and quality of customer services. He said that natural gas holds key significance in the domestic as well as economic life of Pakistan and Pakistanis. He added that welfare of the people is the only priority for him and he will avail this opportunity to serve people in the best possible way.

Syed Dilawar Abbas, Chairman Board of Directors of SNGPL has remained associated with Attock Oil Company, Attock Group and Pharoh Holdings as Chief Representative in Pakistan. He also has the Honour of becoming the youngest Chief Executive of the Attock Oil & Group. Besides he also owns Priority Group which deals in Petroleum, Telecommunications, Information Technology and Business Management Consultancy. He represented Pakistan at World Economic Forum in 1991 and 1992 alongside the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Finance Minister. He is an ex-Member of Prime Minister Task Force on WTO. A Law graduate from Punjab University Law College, Lahore, Syed Dilawar Abbas also has an illustrious political career which includes his election as Senator from 2003 to 2009. Apart from being the Chairman of Senate’s Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources, he was Member of the Senate Standing Committees on Defence and Defence Production, Government Assurance and, Industries and Production. He also remained as Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Water and Irrigation from November 2007 to March 2008. As a keen sportsman, Mr. Dilawar Abbas is Honorary Lifetime Patron of Pakistan Tennis Federation & Sr. Vice President Asian Tennis Federation as well as member of International Tennis Federation’s Constitutional Committee.
