Taliban allegedly burn bodies of 8 Afghan police
KUNDUZ: Taliban gunmen killed eight Afghan police and reportedly burned their bodies in Takhar province, police said Thursday.
The eight policemen were killed with the help of an infiltrator in the Qandari Qu shlaq area of Khwaja Ghar district, said Abdul Khalil Aseer, spokesman of Takhar police.
“Nine police including a Taliban infiltrator were on way to another area from their post when seized by Taliban with help of the infiltrator and killed them. Later, they burned their bodies,” he told Afghan Islamic Press.
He said the alleged infiltrator escaped with Taliban.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed killing nine police but denied reports of burning bodies.
Last month eight civilians were killed and their bodies were burned by their rivals in the Karam Qul district of Faryab province.
