Taliban attack rebuffed in Baghlan, 6 killed

KABUL (Tolo News): At least two policemen were killed and six others were wounded in a Taliban group attack in Baghlan province, police said Monday. In a Taliban attack in Baghlan, at least two policemen were killed and six others were wounded.

Local police said on Monday, that the Taliban attacked Fabrica Qand Township in Baghlan-e-Markazi district. According to police, at least six Taliban militants were also killed and eight others were wounded during the skirmish between Afghan security force members and the Taliban insurgents. Afghan security forces have strongly responded and repulsed Taliban attacks and pushed the militants back, Baghlan police told media.

The skirmishes occurred, a police Humvee is also shown to be burnt and another was taken by the Taliban. Taliban is said to have suffered heavy casualties due to retaliatory response by the Afghan security forces. In another security incident, two members of one family including Afghanistan’s female Handball team’s captain “Nooria Tabish” were killed in an unidentified gunmen attack in Sar-e-Pul province. Governor Spokesman, Zabiullah Amani confirmed to the local media and said that two other individuals were also injured during the incident.

Meanwhile, A BM1 rocket landed near Kabul University. According to the security sources, the rocket landed from an unknown location, the rocked landed in the vicinity of Kabul University. On condition of anonymity, a security source told ABNA that the rocket hit an area behind Sharia Faculty, fortunately, it didn’t inflict any casualties and no harm was reached. An investigation is reportedly ongoing to identify the location from where the BM1 rocket was launched.
