Taliban delegation visits Pakistan for trade and migration talks

KABUL (Amu tv) : A Taliban delegation led by Nooruddin Azizi, the Taliban’s commerce minister, traveled to Pakistan on Wednesday for discussions on trade, transit and migrants. The visit coincides with the Pakistani envoy’s visit to Kabul.

The visit coincides with a parallel diplomatic engagement in Kabul, where Pakistan’s special envoy for Afghanistan, Sadiq Khan, is meeting with senior Taliban officials to address escalating tensions along the countries’ shared border.

According to the Taliban, the delegation to Islamabad includes representatives from several key ministries and departments under Taliban control, including the Economic Affairs Office, the Administrative Affairs Authority, and the ministries of foreign affairs, finance, refugees, transportation, agriculture, and commerce.

Taliban officials said the goal of the trip is to resolve trade and transit bottlenecks, improve cross-border logistics, and engage in dialogue on the treatment and deportation of Afghan migrants from Pakistan — an issue that has strained relations between the two countries in recent months.

Meanwhile, in Kabul, Sadiq Khan held a joint session with Abdul Qayyum Zakir, the Taliban’s deputy defense minister, as part of ongoing coordination committee talks aimed at managing security and easing cross-border tensions.
