Taliban reject killing of Chinese gunmen

Monitoring Desk

KABUL: Rejecting the reports about the killing of deputy head of Chinese gunmen during operation of Afghan forces in Jurm district in Badakhshan, the Taliban said on Monday the enemy was trying to create concerns for the neighbors of Afghanistan by spreading such claims.

In a press release available with Afghan Islamic Press (AIP), Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the reports about the killing of Chinese nationals in Jurm district in Badakhshan were based on propaganda campaign.

“The Islamic Emirate strongly rejects the baseless propaganda of the enemy. Neither a single foreign national exists in this area, nor does anyone know a person with the name of Mullah Mustafa. Perhaps the enemy wants to create concerns for the neighboring countries of Afghanistan and entice them against the Islamic Emirate,” he said.

He said the Taliban had shared their stance directly with the international community, adding that the countries not engaged in the Afghan war were sure on their stance of peace.

The citizens of other countries do not exist in Taliban ranks, he said, adding that no one would be allowed to use the Afghan soil to damage other countries and nations.

Afghan officials said that two Chinese gunmen, including their deputy commander identified as Mustafa and multiple Taliban fighters were killed during operation in Farghamiro area in Jurm district two days ago.

Similarly, four civilians were killed and 25 more wounded in the offensive.

In a separate press release, Taliban condemned the Israeli troops for opening fire on Philistine protesters. They asked the Muslim countries to support the people of Philistine.

The Taliban said the Israeli occupying forces took the step after the US formally announced Baitul Muqadas as the capital of Israel. The US was involved in all the crimes of Israel in the region, they said. Both the US and Israel were involved in anti-human crimes, the Taliban noted.

The Israeli soldiers opened fire on Philistine protesters, leaving 15 dead and over 70 more injured on last Friday.
