KABUL (Amu TV) : The Taliban-run Ministry of Education has claimed that residents of southern Uruzgan province have donated 34 acres of land for the construction of schools and madrasas.
According to the ministry, 42 madrasas and four schools will be built on this land, valued at an estimated 7.87 million Afghanis ($110,000).
This comes amidst the Taliban’s ongoing ban, in place for nearly three years, on girls above the sixth grade and female university students attending schools and universities.
Many citizens have criticized this policy, asserting that education is both an Islamic right and a fundamental human right for their children.
However, the Taliban has made no changes to their stance on women and girls’ education in Afghanistan.
