Taliban team meets with a Dutch official

KABUL (RIA Novosti): A delegation of the Taliban held a meeting with an employee of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Theiss van der Plas, the parties discussed the situation in Afghanistan, said a spokesman for the Taliban political office, Mohammad Naim.

“Today, Deputy Head of the Political Office of the Islamic Emirate Mohammed Abbas Stanekzai and his accompanying delegation met with an employee of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs Theis van der Plas and his accompanying delegation in Doha. During this meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in Afghan-istan,” Naim wrote on Twitter.

According to him, the meeting discussed the situation in Afghanistan, both for the citizens of the country and for foreigners, as well as maintaining the functioning of the airport and bilateral relations. The Taliban also pointed to the need to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and promised to provide assistance.
Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Sigrid Kaag, arrived in the capital of Qatar, Doha, with a delegation. She arrived in Qatar on a visit amid the completion of the withdrawal of foreign troops from Kabul and the evacuation of civilians.
