KABUL: An intelligence official of Taliban along with six gunmen was killed in an airstrike in Faryab province, defence ministry announced on Friday.
Afghan Air Force eliminated Taliban intelligence official identified as Qari Sibghatullah in an airstrike in Faryab province, defence ministry spokesman Javed Ahmad Ghafoori told Afghan Islamic Press (AIP).
Ghafoori did not disclose the exact place and time of the airstrike. However, the officials of 209 Sailab military corps media office in north said Qari Sibghatullah was killed in an airstrike in Daulatabad district of Faryab province yesterday.
Qari Sibghatullah travelled everywhere among civilians, the media office said. He was responsible for collecting information for Taliban. Many actions of Taliban were based on his information.
The Shaheen military corps released a small video in which a house had been targeted in an airstrike. According to the media office, Qari Sibghatullah and other six gunmen were killed in the blitz.
It is pertinent to mention here that a Taliban commander identified as Maulvi Habibullah and some of his gunmen were killed in Almar district of Faryab province.
Defence ministry spokesman Ghafoor Ahmad Javed said that a Daesh commander identified as Khatib Amir was killed in an airstrike of the foreign forces.
Khatib Amir planned multiple attacks for Daesh. He had planned the killing of some special people.
Taliban and Daesh have not said anything in this regard so far. (AIP)
