KABUL: The shadow district chief of Taliban for Musa Qala district has been arrested during an operation of the Afghan Intelligence forces.
The National Directorate of Security, the intelligence department of Afghanistan, in a statement said Mullah Abdul Ghafoor son of Mulah Sefat, the shadow district chief of Taliban for Musa Qala was arrested during a Special Operation conducted by intelligence forces.
The statement further added that three Ak-47 assault rifles, a pistol, 600 kgs of explosives, a vehicle, a motorcycle, dozens of propaganda documents, and a radio set were also confiscated.
The anti-government armed militant groups including Taliban have not commented regarding the arrest of Mullah Abdul Ghafoor so far.
Helmand is among the volatile provinces in South of Afghanistan where Taliban militants have active presence in its various districts and often carry out terrorist related activities against the government and security institutions. (Khaama Press)
