Those talking about respect of vote have insulted MPs for taking oath: Ch Parvez Elahi

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said that those talking respect of vote have insulted assembly members in an attempt to take oath from them in Senate election, Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif during their ten years rule in Punjab, attitude they maintained with assembly members have neither faith on them nor themselves, elected members were forced to take oath before a government deputy secretary.

He said this while talking to media outside Assembly Chambers along with MNA Tariq Bashir Cheema and other party leaders here Saturday. Replying to a question about rulers campaign against NAB, he said he, Ch Shujat Hussain and Moonis Elahi have appeared before NAB twice, we respect all national institutions not only verbally but duly out of our heart, we have also given respect and preference to the assembly members, Punjab Assembly and members hostel new building is there still where we had left, they have not been able to complete it.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that we have relations with Punjab Assembly for last 25 years, we had done historical legislation here during our tenure for welfare and well-being of poor and common and made laws for the first time for establishing such institutions which benefit people of every area and field, like assembly’s new building hospitals established during our tenure are in miserable condition, even during present 10 years rule of Shehbaz Sharif no work has been done in the areas of elected Assembly members.

He further said that one MPA had told him on telephone thanks elections have come, received chief minister’s telephone after five years and that only for asking for vote, whereas in our tenure every elected member had respect, if the chief minister will not honour own members then how the bureaucracy will respect them. In reply to a question, Ch Parvez Elahi said that the courts had given full opportunity to Nawaz Sharif, in replying to another question he said that he does not talk wisely, even after murder of 16 innocent people their faces have pharoanic and proud look.

He said further that we have always tried for uniting the opposition, whether it is sit-in or assemblies we have openly supported PTI and opposition protest.

, Kamil Ali Agha played effective role in the Senate as opposition member. Replying to another question, he said that those who say conspiracy is being hatched they should tell the names of the conspirators, Chief Justice of Pakistan has taken notice of anti-NAB campaign in Ahad Cheema case, He said whenever NAB summons us in future also, we will fully cooperate.
