Tamil superstar Rajinikanth announces to launch political party

NEW DELHI: A mega star of Tamil-language movies, Rajinikanth has announced on Sunday that he is launching a political party in the better interest of the masses.

, adding drama to a heated political scene in a state with a history of film stars becoming chief ministers.

The announcement of Rajnikanth entering into politics added more drama to a heated politics of Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu state of India has been in political limbo since the death of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in December 2016. Jayalalithaa was a popular actress before joining politics.

While talking to media persons Rajnikanth said that is he comes into power and was not able to deliver in the first three years than he will resign and adding that he announce to join politics because democracy is in a state of distress in the Tamil Nadu state of India.

In Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth often plays larger-than-life characters that project him as a saviour of the masses.

Tamil Nadu, a state of more than 70 million people, is sometimes called the “Detroit of Asia”. It is home to factories of companies including BMW, Daimler, Hyundai, Ford, Nissan and Renault.
