TDAP awareness session on financial assistance organized

SUKKUR: TDAP session was held at Sukkur in collaboration with Sindh Chamber of Agriculture to provide initial awareness about provisions and facilities/services conferred by financial institutions to local SMEs of potential products. Wherein, the representatives of State Bank of Pakistan Sukkur, Commercial Banks, Islamic Banks and Microfinance Banks along with the Sindh Enterprise Development Fund and TDAP Sukkur provided comprehensive presentations about their provisions to SMEs. The event was attended by the representatives of the local agriculturist, local traders/business community and local exporters of potential products.

Mr. Syed Miran Muhammad Shah-President Sindh Chamber of Agriculture highly appreciated the support of TDAP Sukkur and expressed feelings of warmth on this occasion. In his remarks, he underlined that the banks should differentiate their policies and regulations between growers and traders/exporters and growers should be exempted from high interest rates and extensive banks documentation procedures while getting loans.

The Managing Director Sindh Enterprise Development Fund, Mr. Mehboob-ul-Haq apprised the participants about his vision and objectives to support entrepreneurship in agriculture sector. Mr. Zahid Hussain Bhurghri-GS Sindh Chamber of Agriculture underscored the concerns of growers and agriculturist with banks while giving his remarks. Mr. Ghulam Qasim Jiskani-Coordinator SAGP was optimistic and hopeful in near future for interest free loans in agriculture sector. Mr. Rizwan-ul-Haq-President Sukkur Chamber of Commerce & Industry informed about joint declaration of 1st regional provisional chambers conference held at Sukkur Chamber on 18th February, 2020 and invited the participants to work together for the prosperity of growers and exporters. In addition to this, representatives emphasized that the Pakistan Government should to ban on imports of dates from other countries and requested to resolve long pending issue of Sukkur Dry Port.

The event was also attended by Dr GS Markhand-Dates Scholar, Mr. M Bashir Arain- President Khairpur Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mr. Sadarddin Phulpoto Prominent Dates Grower, Hafiz A Haleem Sindh Abadgar Foundation, Rais Ghulam Hassan Chachar, Mr. Shahzado Khan Chijjan, Ms Naaz Dharejo, Mr. Nabi Bux Sethio and Agha Nasrullah-Founder member of Sindh Chamber of Agriculture.
