TDAP holds Webinar for Pakistani companies

KARACHI: Ministry of Commerce, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and Pakistan High Commission Dhaka organized a Webinar for ‘orientation of Pakistani companies participating in the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (DCCI) virtual Business Conclave.

High Commissioner for Pakistan Imran Ahmed Siddiqui welcomed the participants and thanked DCCI for guiding Pakistani companies on technical handling of the virtual platform.

He reiterated Pakistan High Commission’s strengthened engagement with DCCI for a Joint Action Plan and proposed MoU to boost bilateral trade activities. Speakers from DCCI included; Secretary General (Acting) DCCI, Afsarul Arifeen, Secretary DCCI, Md Joynal Abdin, Deputy Secretary Facilitation and SME Development DCCI, Enamul Hafiz Latifee, and Deputy Secretary R&D and SME Development, Mohammad Musleh Uddin. Formal speeches and briefings were followed by a Question-Answer session for the Pakistani participants.

Pakistan is participating in DCCI Business Conclave as one of the Partner Countries which also include; China, Turkey, Poland, Vietnam, Egypt, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Algeria, besides Bangladesh. More than 50 Pakistani companies are participating in the event from seven different sectors i.e. Apparels and Textiles, Light engineering goods, Pharmaceuticals, Agro and Food Processing, IT and IT enabled services, Leather products, and Plastics.

TDAP and Ministry of Commerce insisted upon the Pakistani companies to participate in the DCCI virtual business conclave with full vigor for establishing linkages with Bangladeshi businessmen and fetch business for Pakistan.

Pakistani companies appreciated role of Pakistani High Commission, TDAP, Ministry of Commerce and Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industries for providing them opportunity to participate in the first ever DCCI virtual business conclave being held from 5-7 January 2021.
