ISLAMABAD: A technical fault occurred in the Tarbela power plant and it stopped the electricity supply in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces on early Wednesday.
According to Tarbela power plant officials, the technical fault will affect the power supply to Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur and other cities of Punjab.
Similarly, it will also affect the KP cities including Peshawar, Swat and Lakki Marwat.
The official said that the teams have reached the power plant along with the secretary of the Power Division and they started the work immediately to fix the fault.
No timeline has been given as to when the repairs are expected to finish.
Earlier breakdowns at the power plant had seen the repairs take up to seven to eight hours.
