Ten Taliban killed in clash

KABUL: A local security official in Uruzgan province claimed on Saturday that at least 10 Taliban members were killed in a clash with security forces.

Mullah Abdul Samad district police chief for Khas Uruzgan district said security forces thwarted a Taliban attack on security check posts in the district. Samad said that on Friday dozens of Taliban attacked security check posts in Shikha area of the district. During the attack ten Taliban were killed and eight others were wounded. The Taliban then fled the area, Samad said.
